Tom Read Wilson, the First Dates star currently appearing on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, may need to clarify a story he told about his parents' meeting after they have labelled it 'factually incorrect'.
During a previous appearance on 8 Out of 10 Cats, Wilson claimed his father, Crispin, was a teacher at the school where his mother, Juliette, was a student, and that they began a relationship when she was 18 and he was 34.
However, Crispin has told MailOnline that this account is inaccurate. He explained that he taught English at Bradfield College, where Tom's grandfather also taught French. Tom grew up in a house on campus, but his mother never attended the school; she lived in a different house on the grounds. The relationship began after Juliette left school at age 20 and was in college. They married in May 1986, and Tom was born later that year.
Tom has previously spoken warmly of his parents, though they are now separated and his father has remarried. He credits his father, an English teacher, with his distinctive voice and love of language.
During his time in the jungle, Tom has also discussed his single status, joking that he is good at finding men but not keeping them, and that Kelly Brook would be his ideal woman if he were straight.
