Tom Kerridge, the Michelin-starred chef and TV personality, first met his future wife Beth on a night out for a friend's birthday in London back in 1997. He told The Guardian: 'We went into Camden, walked into a bar and there was this loud northern woman. She went: "You're Tom. Give me £3 for the stripper." That was the first sentence Beth said to me.'
Engagement and Marriage
The pair hit it off quickly. Tom revealed: 'It was like we'd known each other for ages.' Just six weeks after meeting, Beth proposed at 1am on a Saturday in Leicester Square after Tom had finished work. They made things official in 2000, marrying in an old theatre in north London, followed by hosting 'about 200 people in this tiny pub in King's Cross'.
Working Together
Tom and Beth work side by side managing their culinary empire, including The Hand & Flowers in Marlow, which earned its first Michelin star after just ten months and later became the first pub to hold two Michelin stars. Appearing on the Hungry podcast, Tom opened up about the challenges: 'It's really hard. Like, it's really hard. Anybody who goes into the business…If you live above the space, work with your wife…she's your restaurant manager and you're the head chef…' He added: 'It's a really difficult starting point, but you can grow from that and you build from that. You have to understand that, you know, when Beth is saying something or I'm saying something, it's not personal, it's reactionary to business, but then you have to understand the point where you separate it.'
Family Life with Son Acey
Tom and Beth have a son named Acey, born in 2015. In 2025, Tom said Acey already targets a career in sport. When asked if his son 'takes after him', Tom replied: 'Yeah, in a lot of ways, he does massively and it drives my wife nuts because sometimes just like, two of us. And we do fall out quite a lot because we argue about the same thing and it's almost like having an argument with yourself and then afterwards we both laugh about it.' Tom appears on Tom Kerridge Cooks Italy every Thursday at 7:30pm on ITV1.
