Tom Hanks' Trembling Hands Spark Health Concerns After SNL Appearance

Tom Hanks' appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend has reignited concerns about his health after fans noticed his hands trembling during a skit. The 68-year-old actor joined host Martin Short and other stars including Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, and John Mulaney for the show's recurring Five-Timers Club segment.

Viewers took to social media to express worry, with one commenting on SNL's Instagram post, 'Is Tom Hanks’ hand shaking?' Another user, Lara, added, 'I also noticed it!!! And now I am concerned.' A third fan noted similar shaking during a previous appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

This is not the first time Hanks' trembling hands have caused alarm. In June 2022, during a promotional event for Baz Luhrmann's Elvis film in Australia, he struggled to control a shake in his right hand while holding a microphone. Dr Stuart Fischer, a Yale graduate and medical director, told DailyMail.com at the time that the symptoms could indicate Parkinson's disease, saying, 'Parkinson's would be uppermost in most physicians' minds.'

Dr Fischer also mentioned essential tremor as a possibility but noted it typically affects younger people. He ruled out links to Hanks' type 2 diabetes or previous COVID-19 diagnosis, though other experts noted that low blood sugar from diabetes medication could cause shaking. DailyMail.com has contacted Hanks' representative for comment.
