Coleen Nolan has announced she is taking an immediate break from all her work commitments, including her role on Loose Women, and postponing her solo tour following a heated on-air confrontation with Kim Woodburn. The pair, who previously feuded on Celebrity Big Brother, clashed on Loose Women last week, leading Woodburn to storm off set while calling Nolan 'trash'.
In a statement released on Twitter, Nolan's team cited 'constant online bullying, trolling, and misrepresentation of her words, actions and re-actions' as the reason for her hiatus. The statement noted that Nolan has spent 50 years in show business and 18 years on Loose Women, and has never before faced such a 'horrifying torrent of online abuse' or 'heart-breaking attack on her reputation'.
Nolan had previously expressed devastation over the backlash, revealing that some viewers told her they wanted her to 'die like her sister'. Speaking on ITV's This Morning, she said she had believed Woodburn was coming on the show to make amends, but the encounter did not go as expected.
The singer and TV personality had only announced her first solo tour on September 3 during a live appearance on Loose Women. The tour, titled 'Never Too Late', has now been postponed indefinitely as Nolan takes time out to be with her family.
