Television presenter Tess Daly has been enjoying some quality family time on the slopes, sharing joyful snaps from a ski trip to the French Alps. The holiday comes on the heels of two significant family milestones: her eldest daughter's relocation to New York City and her own departure from BBC's Strictly Come Dancing after more than two decades.
A Frosty Family Getaway
On Friday, 10 January 2026, the 56-year-old star took to Instagram to post a series of photos from the alpine excursion. Tess appeared in high spirits, bundled up against the cold in a cosy white woolly jacket and cream trousers, with her blonde hair flowing freely. She completed her look with black boots and chic sunglasses.
Her daughter, 21-year-old Phoebe, showcased her style in a shiny silver coat paired with burgundy and white patterned trousers, accessorised with a dark handbag. Tess's husband, Vernon Kay, 51, was also pictured, dressed in a matching black jacket, trousers, and beanie hat. The couple, who married in 2003, are also parents to younger daughter Amber, 16.
Alongside the images, Tess penned a cheerful caption, revealing: "Hitting the slopes for the first time since I was 17 made for an eventful trip last week."
Phoebe's Transatlantic Move
The family holiday preceded a major change for the Kay household. Just days before the ski trip, Phoebe announced a temporary move to New York City. On Thursday, she shared a photo of herself at a rooftop bar in the Big Apple, captioning it "Home for a while..."
She also updated her Instagram bio to read "Heyyyy LDN/NYC," signalling her new transatlantic lifestyle. While the reason for the relocation and its duration remain private, the move is recent. Phoebe was in the UK in December to support her mother at the final of Strictly Come Dancing.
A Royal Farewell to Strictly
The ski trip and Phoebe's move follow an emotionally charged period for Tess, who co-presented her final live Strictly Come Dancing show in December 2025. Tess, who began hosting the BBC show in 2004, and co-host Claudia Winkleman announced their joint departure in September 2025.
The finale was marked by a stunning tribute from Queen Camilla, read aloud by judge Craig Revel Horwood. The Queen's letter praised the duo's "warmth, compassion, and sheer happiness," calling theirs "perhaps the greatest strictly partnership of all." She concluded by urging them to "keep dancing."
Following the final, Phoebe posted a heartfelt tribute to her mother on Instagram, writing: "Mum you are a true inspiration to me... I will forever be the show's number one fan." She noted that Strictly had been in her life "since the day mum was pregnant with me."
In their own farewell video, Tess and Claudia expressed that leaving "feels like the right time," promising to continue saying "keep dancing" to each other, albeit possibly "in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza."
