Tess Daly Wears Wedding Ring at Wimbledon After Split

Tess Daly was spotted wearing her wedding rings at the Wimbledon final on Sunday, July 12, two months after she and Vernon Kay publicly confirmed their split. The former Strictly Come Dancing host arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in an elegant floor-length pastel-coloured dress, enjoying the sunshine before heading to Centre Court.

Split Announcement in May

In May 2026, Tess Daly and Vernon Kay announced the end of their marriage in a joint statement shared on Instagram Stories. The statement read: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this transition together." The statement concluded: "We will not be making any further public comments. Tess and Vernon."

Continued Close Relationship

Despite the split, Tess, 57, and Vernon, 52, have remained close. Just last week, Vernon was seen supporting Tess's move as she headed to Greece to shoot her next campaign for her swimwear brand. They were also seen spending time together at Pub In The Park with mutual friends including actor Will Mellor, and continue to spend time with their daughters Phoebe and Amber as a family.

Tess and Vernon met in 2001 at a BBC Christmas party while working for rival channels. They married in September 2003 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Horwich, near Bolton, Vernon's hometown. Their marriage was hit by scandal in 2010 when Vernon admitted to sending flirty messages to "four or five girls." He told Radio 1 listeners at the time: "I've let down my wife Tess. I'm an idiot. I've been stupid and daft but I'm not a sex pest. I'm glad this story has come out. It feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders."
