Tess Daly has shared her approach to maintaining confidence as she navigates major personal and professional changes, including her split from Vernon Kay and departure from Strictly Come Dancing. The presenter, who stepped down from the BBC One show after 21 years last year, is now focusing on her swimwear brand NAIA Beach, which she co-founded in 2021 with friend Gayle Lawton.
Personal Life Changes
In May, Tess and Vernon announced their separation after nearly 23 years of marriage. The couple, who met in 2001 at a BBC Christmas party and married in 2003, share two daughters, Phoebe and Amber. Their joint statement read: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us." They added that they remain "great friends" and are "fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents."
Professional Shift
Tess also stepped down from hosting Strictly Come Dancing alongside Claudia Winkleman, ending a 21-year tenure. Now, she is channeling her energy into NAIA Beach, which expanded into activewear earlier this year and recently opened its first pop-up shop in Notting Hill, London, running until July 12. The pop-up showcases the brand's Spring/Summer '26 collection.
Confidence Insights
Speaking to Hello! magazine, Tess shared her summer confidence tips: "I've come to realise that confidence is about feeling comfortable in your own skin - it's about discovering and celebrating your strengths, embracing your imperfections and always remembering to treat yourself with the same kindness you show others." She also emphasized the importance of finding swimwear that makes women feel confident, adding: "We know how important it is to find swimwear that makes you feel confident when wearing it, so being able to actually try it on and experience for yourself our fabulously flattering fit is really special. We also have a dedicated team member on hand to offer specialist advice when it comes to finding your perfect fit."
