Teddi Mellencamp has spoken about the emotional impact of Brandon Blackstock's death, saying it 'really hit me hard'. Blackstock, the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson, died at 48 from melanoma, three years after his diagnosis.
On her podcast 'Two T's in a Pod', the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who was diagnosed with melanoma in 2022 and whose condition advanced to stage four this year, said she was affected by the news because of her own battle with the disease.
Mellencamp admitted she researched Blackstock's case, wondering when the cancer metastasised and whether he declined treatment. She said she respected the family's privacy but found the story difficult to read.
Clarkson has not publicly commented on her ex-husband's death, but postponed her Las Vegas residency dates to be with their children, River and Remington. Mellencamp praised Clarkson's prioritisation of her children, noting that supporting them during illness is crucial.
