Taylor Swift has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who allegedly visited her Los Angeles home repeatedly and claimed to be in a relationship with her.
Brian Jason Wagner, 45, from Colorado, is said to have made numerous trips to the property between July 2024 and May. Swift stated in court documents that Wagner made a series of untrue claims, including that he lived there, was her partner, and that she was the mother of his son.
On one visit she said he held a glass bottle that could have been used as a weapon, leaving her fearful for her safety and that of her family. The order requires Wagner to stay at least 100 yards from her, with a further hearing set for 30 June.
The singer has faced several stalkers in the past. In 2017, Mohammed Jaffar was placed in psychiatric care after entering her apartment block; in 2018, Roger Alvarado was jailed for breaking in and using her shower; and Julius Sandrock was arrested with weapons in his car.
Six others have been convicted of stalking Swift since then, including a man who crashed into her building in 2020. Separately, Swift recently confirmed she had bought back the master recordings of her first six albums, ending a long-running dispute.
