Taylor Swift has announced a new track called Patient Zero, set to be released on Friday, September 25. The announcement follows a countdown clock that appeared on her official website, sending fans into a frenzy of speculation.

The countdown clock left Swifties convinced the star was about to share her wedding photos with Travis Kelce. However, she instead revealed the new song. Fans praised her pre-announcement Easter Eggs, noting she had changed her bios on Instagram and X/Twitter to read: "And, baby, that’s sh0w business f0r y0u," with a fire heart and zeros replacing the letter O.
One elated user wrote: "PATIENT ZERO THATS RIGHT BECAUSE IM SO OVERWHELMED RN I NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL IM OVERSWIFTIFIED AHHHHH." Another added: "Thank you for being perfect," while a third said they were "crying, shaking, throwing up," after the announcement.
Wedding photos theory
Her loyal following had earlier been sure the teaser was indicating the star is ready to showcase her wedding snaps, months after tying the knot in a lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden. The pop icon, 36, is well known for dropping Easter Egg messages for fans and has previously shared similar teases, which have led to new albums and limited edition releases.

Hidden clues and relationship timeline
Days earlier, Taylor appeared in a pre-recorded video for the Emmy Awards, leaving fans convinced she's hinting at her next album drop after finding a 'hidden clue' in the details. The clip featured multiple crime boards that social media users zoomed in on to see two "Taylor's Version" albums this year as she's set to release rerecorded versions of her debut album and the Reputation album.
Some hints included the clock in the four-minute bit being set to 10:13 – seemingly teasing an October 13 release date. The date, notably, is a Tuesday, and a paper on one of the crime boards referenced "Tuesday 8am".
Taylor and Travis have been romantically linked since the summer of 2023, and the pair went public with their relationship that October, when they were seen holding hands at a Saturday Night Live party. The couple first met when Travis attended the Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium. Speaking on his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce previously, Travis confessed he was disappointed he couldn't meet Taylor at the time and give her a bracelet with his phone number on it.
