Welsh actor Taron Egerton, known for his roles in Kingsman, Rocketman, and Netflix's Carry-On and Apex, has been cast in the second season of the HBO series I Love LA. The eight-episode run is currently filming in Los Angeles.
Show Details and New Cast Members
Created, executive produced, and starring Rachel Sennott, I Love LA follows an ambitious group of friends navigating life and romance in LA. Taron joins returning cast members Odessa A'zion, Jordan Firstman, Josh Hutcherson, and True Whitaker, along with new additions Jamie Chung, Benjamin Norris, Dylan Arnold, Jessy Hodges, and Milan Carter.
The series centers on Rachel's character Maia, a young talent manager trying to make it in Los Angeles when her university friend Tallulah, a rising influencer played by Odessa, arrives in the city.
Success and Renewal
I Love LA has been a significant hit for HBO, averaging two million viewers across HBO and streaming platforms, leading to an early second-season renewal last November.
Taron's Recent Role and Future
Taron recently appeared in the Netflix thriller Apex, where he played Ben, a disturbed Australian hunter pursuing rock climber Sasha (Charlize Theron). He described the role as a departure from his previous work, telling Tudum: "The actors I most admire often change lanes a lot." He added that the character was "just about the most f****d-up character I've ever played."
