The historic Swansea river cruise boat, Copper Jack, is set to resume sailings at the beginning of July following extensive refurbishment works. The boat, operated by a registered charity staffed by volunteers, offers a 90-minute journey that showcases the city's industrial heritage, including its history as Copperopolis, while passengers enjoy scenic views and riverside wildlife.
Refurbishment and Return
Copper Jack has completed a costly refurbishment and is now preparing for its slow return to Swansea. Once back on its mooring, the seating will be reinstalled, the galley restocked, and onboard systems checked. Safety equipment will be installed before a Maritime Coastguard Agency in-water inspection.
Inclusive Experience
The boat plays a vital role in making Swansea's waterways accessible for disabled, elderly, and young visitors, promoting an inclusive environment. Music trips are also planned to resume as the season progresses.
