Katie Holmes Denies Tom Cruise Trust Fund Claims for Daughter Suri

Katie Holmes has publicly refuted reports that her daughter Suri Cruise inherited a trust fund from father Tom Cruise, calling the claims a safety threat. The actress took to Instagram to denounce the story, which alleged that Suri became a millionaire upon turning 18 in April.

Holmes, 45, wrote on Instagram that the reports were “completely false” and told The Daily Mail to “stop making stuff up”. She added the caption “enough” and agreed with commenters who said such stories “should be against the law”.

Suri was born in April 2006 to Holmes and Cruise, who married in November 2006 after a brief engagement. Holmes filed for divorce in June 2012, ending their five-year marriage.

Holmes has previously spoken about protecting Suri from the spotlight. In a 2023 interview with Glamour, she said: “What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her.”

Despite her protective stance, Holmes has involved Suri in her film projects. Suri sang “Blue Moon” for the opening credits of Holmes’ 2022 film Alone Together and also contributed vocals to the 2023 movie Rare Objects. Holmes said she always asks Suri to participate, describing it as a “safe, beautiful, creative space”.
