Suneil Anand, the Bollywood actor and son of Indian cinema legend Dev Anand, has died at the age of 70 after reportedly suffering a heart attack in London. He was travelling from the US to India when the incident occurred.
Family confirms death
His niece, Gina Narang, confirmed the news, saying: "With heavy hearts, our family mourns the passing of Suneil Anand. We are comforted by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support, for which we are truly grateful. We kindly request privacy as we navigate this difficult time together."
Details of the incident
According to reports via NDTV.com, Suneil suffered a heart attack in London and was taken to hospital, the same hospital where his father died. Medics planned to carry out a stent procedure following initial examination, but before the operation could begin, he suffered a second heart attack and could not be saved.

News of his death sparked an enormous wave of tributes on social media. Career and legacy
Suneil launched his acting career in 1984 with Anand Aur Anand, helmed by his father Dev. He also appeared in movies including Car Thief, Main Tere Liye and Master. He had previously revealed plans to work on a picture honouring his father, telling journalists: "It's a huge movie dedicated to my father. I am producing and directing. The show goes on. I will continue to take my father's legacy forward."
