Sue Radford, star of Channel 5's '22 Kids and Counting', has broken down in tears after her 14-year-old daughter Tillie was bullied about her disability. The emotional scenes aired on Sunday's episode, where Noel Radford confronted Tillie after she came home from school in tears for weeks.
Tillie has a leg condition caused by an infection that damaged the growth plate of her femur when she was five. The family faced a life-changing decision about whether she should undergo another operation to lengthen her leg. Sue sobbed in her car, saying: 'We don't know if that bone will stop growing, we just have to hope that it doesn't and that it's alright. It is an absolute nightmare.'
Doctors advised that an operation could help, as the gap in Tillie's leg had widened. Initially unsure, Tillie eventually agreed to the surgery, saying: 'I want the operation. The aim is to have the operation and then everything from then will get better.' The operation is months away.
Following the bullying, Sue has removed Tillie from social media to protect her. The family hopes the surgery will improve Tillie's quality of life and reduce the limp caused by the condition.
