Strictly's Stefan Dennis Reveals Near Fatal Health Battle

Strictly Come Dancing star Stefan Dennis has opened up about his recent health scare, which forced him to miss last week's show. The 66-year-old actor, best known for playing Paul Robinson in Neighbours, was rushed to hospital after suffering a severe bout of vertigo.

Appearing on the spin-off show It Takes Two, Dennis told host Fleur East: 'I had a little bit of a turn, a little bit of an episode of vertigo. It was all ok, made myself alright again with the help of some good people at the hospital.' He thanked fans for their well wishes.

Dennis and his professional partner Dianne Buswell will return to the dance floor this week with a Charleston routine. The actor admitted the dance is 'a wee bit faster and a hell of a lot more technical than I thought,' describing it as 'jam packed.' The couple will perform as Bonnie and Clyde.

Last week, Strictly bosses announced Dennis's withdrawal on Instagram, stating: 'Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, he will not dance this weekend.' They confirmed he and Buswell would receive a bye to this week.

Buswell commented on the post: 'Sending all my Aussie love steffo. I know how much you wanted to dance!' Judge Motsi Mabuse also sent her well wishes. Dennis and Buswell had survived the first elimination, with Apprentice star Thomas Skinner being the first to leave the competition.
