Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell and her partner Joe Sugg have revealed they have already selected a name for their unborn son. The couple, who met on the BBC show in 2018, announced Dianne's pregnancy earlier this year, making her the first pregnant dancer to compete on Strictly.
In a YouTube video posted on 27 October, the couple answered fan questions and shared details about their baby news. Dianne admitted she was 'the most nervous I'd ever been' when telling her parents, while Joe said he cried every time they shared the news with someone new.
The couple also disclosed that they have picked a name for their baby boy but are keeping it secret for now. Joe described it as 'quite a unique name' that can be shortened, adding: 'I don't really see this name really anywhere.' Dianne likened it to the name Joe, saying it's 'cute when you're little' but can be more formal when older.
Joe joked that they are now referring to the baby as 'Derek' to avoid accidentally revealing the real name before the due date, which they also plan to keep private. The couple announced their pregnancy in September with a sweet Instagram video featuring stick figures.
Dianne has continued to dance on Strictly this series while pregnant, hitting back at critics who expressed concern. She shared a video of herself doing a cartwheel, captioning it: 'I just can't help it when I hear the beat.' However, her partner Stefan Dennis had to withdraw from the competition due to injury, ending Dianne's Strictly journey for this series.
