Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice performed the Waltz as their first dance of the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final. Ranvir never thought she would make it to the semi-final but it seems she certainly impressed Giovanni with her performance on Saturday night as he sweetly kissed her on the cheek and called her “beautiful” when their dance came to an end.
Giovanni bowed at his partner before telling her: “Stunning, stunning, stunning.” They hugged one another before he kissed her on the cheek and said: “So beautiful.”
Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas were both on their feet at the performance with the former remarking: “Well every time you dance, I feel inside that there is something so beautiful about watching you dance. I enjoy it, that’s personally me, and it’s so great today. You look so beautiful.”
However Craig Revel Horwood wasn’t as impressed commenting: “Well I hope so but for me that particular dance the footwork was a little bit ropey for my taste. I think the dress actually covered a multitude of sins. The heels weren’t taken in the pits, there were lots of bits where you were unsteady. But the beauty about it was you maintained body contact throughout. Your top line was absolutely exquisite, it was simple, effective, it was graceful. Gorgeous.”
Shirley continued: “Well I’m not sure if we were looking at the same dance but I found it a stripped down version, a beautiful little curtesy at the beginning, it was slow, it was controlled, as I said before, your frame is that of a professional. You absolutely nailed it this week. It’s stunning, it’s sensual.”
Speaking to host Claudia Winkleman after getting comments from the judges, Ranvir remarked: “Two dances in one week, the pressure has definitely been on. It was such a beautiful dance so thank you for choosing such beautiful music and teaching me so beautifully,” she continued hugging Giovanni. “Well done for doing a very good job,” the professional replied.
