A professional dancer from the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing has been arrested on suspicion of rape, according to reports. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was taken into custody in October over an alleged incident that occurred in 2024.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed the arrest, stating: 'A man was released on police bail under investigation having been arrested in London on Monday 13 October on suspicion of rape. The allegations relate to an incident which happened in Hertfordshire during 2024.' The force added that inquiries by officers from the public protection team are ongoing.
The Sun newspaper reported that the alleged victim was not a contestant or professional dancer on the show. A BBC spokesperson declined to comment, saying: 'It would not be appropriate to comment on an ongoing police investigation.'
This is the second arrest of a male Strictly star this year. In August, another unnamed man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of rape and separate allegations of 'non-consensual intimate image abuse'.
