Stephanie Davis has revealed the 'amazing' Coronation Street star she remains in contact with following her departure from the ITV soap. The 33-year-old actress played Courtney Vance on the cobbles in 2023 in an explosive storyline.
Courtney's explosive storyline
During Courtney's stint in Weatherfield, the character, who was married to Darren (played by Ryan Early), embarked on an affair with Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain). Despite trying to build a relationship with Aadi, Courtney ultimately reconciled with Darren and left Weatherfield, leaving Aadi devastated.
Speaking exclusively via WhichBingo about her time on the soap, Stephanie disclosed the co-star she continues to keep in touch with.
Praise for Dev Alahan actor
Stephanie shared: "I was acting a lot with Dev [Alahan, played by Jimmi Harkishin] in Coronation Street, who is absolutely amazing. Now, me and him together, we started just writing our own scripts."
"We bounced off each other so much and I was like, 'I'm going to do this, and I'm going to take your coffee off you when you're drinking it!' and he was like, 'yeah, I love it!'"
"I'm going to do this', and then the director's like, 'Okay, they're going with it.' There's a few scenes, especially that coffee-drinking scene."
"In the end, I thought they're going to end up writing us that we are having the affair [instead of Courtney and Aadi], because we had such good chemistry on screen."
Still in contact and returning to acting
Stephanie added: "He still always checks in with me now, and we still keep in contact with each other. Yeah, he's amazing. We just had so many laughs on set!"
Heaping praise on the Corrie set, Stephanie enthused: "Corrie I think is honestly just an absolutely amazing place to work. The people, the cast, the crew, the people in the section, the cleaners, everybody who works there are all like salt of the earth, and it's such a professional place."
"I've always wanted to do Coronation Street, so I was absolutely honoured when I got the part for Courtney. She [Courtney] brought a bit of spice to it, didn't she?"
"And then, obviously, I got pregnant with my son, so I've then taken time off to be a mum and maternity leave, but I'm really excited to be coming back now and doing what I love again [acting]."
