Stacey Solomon has clapped back at trolls who criticised her for having her nails done shortly after giving birth. The Loose Women presenter, who welcomed daughter Belle earlier this month with husband Joe Swash, shared a video on Instagram Stories addressing the criticism.
After posting about getting her nails done, one commenter said nails were impractical for a newborn. Solomon reposted the comment and wrote: 'Have a day off Wilma, it'll be OK I promise'. In a video cuddling Belle, she said: 'Well I think they’re really practical. They’re great for tickles, head strokes – Belle's absolutely loving them.' She added that one nail is 'really good for picking out bogies'.
She acknowledged she might end up with 'poo under them' but said she has a nail brush and washes her hands, adding 'it'll be fine'.
Separately, Solomon's BBC One series Sort Your Life Out has received over 1,000 complaints about animal cruelty after she suggested moving a family's pet rabbits into outside hutches. The BBC responded, explaining the rabbits normally live outside and were only indoors temporarily after being neutered, and that they are acclimatised to the garden.
