Stacey Solomon has revealed she was left 'in tears' on her wedding day after her teenage son's emotional best man speech. The TV star, 35, tied the knot with former EastEnders actor Joe Swash in July 2022.
Opening up on the latest episode of her new documentary, Stacey & Joe, which aired tonight, Stacey recalled the moment around the dinner table with her family. She asked her son Zachary, now 17: 'Do you remember your best man speech Zach?' adding: 'That was like the biggest achievement, that he made us all cry on our wedding day.'
The family then turned their attention to Stacey's father, David, with Joe joking: 'Do a re-creation of your speech Dave.' Stacey quipped: 'Oh no, not that, that was the longest speech of all time, oh my god, do you remember when dad started talking and the sun actually went down before he finished his speech.' The family erupted into laughter.
In September, Stacey took Zachary to the NTAs, later explaining she feared missing too much of her older children's lives. Sharing photos on Instagram, she wrote: 'On the way to the NTAs with Zachary who has been by my side in this crazy journey since the very beginning. I wouldn’t be who I am if it weren’t for you Zach.' She added: 'My rock, since forever. to the moon & back forever...'
The BBC documentary, filmed at their Essex home Pickle Cottage, features Stacey, Joe, and their children Zachary, Leighton, 12, Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two. Stacey described the experience as 'a bit weird' but 'a lot of fun to watch back, like watching home videos.'
