Stacey Solomon Lands Dream Role on The Masked Singer

Stacey Solomon has landed what she describes as a "dream come true" role on one of ITV's biggest entertainment shows. The 36-year-old presenter is joining The Masked Singer as part of a brand-new team of celebrity detectives, giving her the chance to put her guessing skills to the test alongside Alan Carr.

Stacey Joins Alan Carr's 'Wild Cards' Team

Stacey will join Alan's newly created "Wild Cards" team, who will go head-to-head with the show's established panel as they attempt to work out the identities of the famous faces performing behind the elaborate masks. For Stacey, the opportunity is particularly exciting because she has revealed that she and her family are huge fans of the programme.

Stacey said she was thrilled to be joining Alan Carr's team, revealing that she and her family are huge fans of The Masked Singer. She added that she was looking forward to putting her detective skills to the test and hopefully working out the identities of some of the famous faces behind the masks.

New Format: 'Wild Cards' vs 'Legends'

The shake-up will see the new Wild Cards team take on the show's existing panel, who will now be known as the "Legends". Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross will make up the established team as they battle it out against Alan's newcomers to see who can correctly identify the celebrities hiding underneath the costumes.

ITV has yet to reveal the remaining names joining Alan and Stacey on the Wild Cards team, meaning there are still plenty of questions surrounding the revamped format.

Alan Carr's Unmasking Announcement

Alan's addition to The Masked Singer panel was announced in July, with a post on Instagram seeing the comedian unmask himself. Wearing a vibrant pink suit with mirror decals over the lapel, he unmasked himself and said: “It’s me, Alan Carr. I’m sick and tired of watching that panel make terrible guesses.”

“I’ve been Red Panda. I’ve been Teeth – I don’t know why they thought of me,' he joked, referencing his past appearances on the show. Alan continued: “I’m joining the panel, and I’m going to bring something that they desperately need – intelligence. “Watch out Jonathan, Maya, Davina, and Mo – because I’m bringing my own detectives to rival yours. And we’re not here to play. We’re here to win.”

Also describing the role as a “dream come true”, he added: “I can’t wait to play detective – so excited to be shouting ‘take it off’ in the actual studio rather than on my settee at home.” The Masked Singer will return for its eighth series in 2027 and will be available to watch on ITV1 and ITVX.
