Stacey Solomon has been confirmed as a new 'Wild Card' detective on ITV's The Masked Singer, joining Alan Carr's team for the show's eighth series in 2027.

The 36-year-old star will be part of a revamped panel of detectives, joining Alan Carr's new team of 'Wild Cards' as they attempt to identify the celebrities hiding beneath the show's costumes.

Stacey has said the job is a dream come true, adding that she is 'so excited' to join Alan's team as her family are 'huge fans' of the show.

Stacey's Role on the Show

The former X Factor star is a fan of the ITV guessing game and has said she cannot wait to get involved in the detective work alongside Alan and 'hopefully unmask a few more superstars'.

Viewers may see a different side to the presenter as she swaps her usual TV roles for wild guesses, elaborate theories and shouting for celebrities to 'take it off'.

Alan has said he 'can't wait to play detective', joking that he will finally be able to yell at masked celebrities somewhere other than his living room.

Format and Line-Up

ITV has not yet revealed the full line-up of stars who will make up Alan's Wild Cards team. The new format will see the Wild Cards go head-to-head with the established panel, now known as the 'Legends'.

Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross make up that team, with the two groups competing to prove who has the best celebrity-detective skills.

Joel Dommett will once again host the guessing game, a role he has held since the show launched in the UK.

Show History and Future

The show's format involves famous faces performing while hidden inside costumes, leaving the panel and viewers to pick apart clues and identify each mask.

Past contestants have included Natalie Imbruglia, Joss Stone, Charlie Simpson and Sir Lenny Henry.

Stacey's new role comes during a busy period for the presenter, who has built an impressive television career since becoming a household name on The X Factor in 2009.

The Masked Singer will return for its eighth series in 2027 and will be available to watch on ITV1 and ITVX.
