Stacey Solomon joins The Masked Singer panel in dream role

Stacey Solomon has announced her next career move, which she described as a "dream come true". The TV star is joining the panel for the upcoming series of The Masked Singer UK.

The 36-year-old will be part of the new Wild Cards panel of detectives, led by Alan Carr. Stacey and Alan will work together to go up against Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross, who are now known as the "Legends". They will battle to prove they are the best guessers.

'Dream come true' for Stacey Solomon

Speaking of her new career venture, Stacey said: "I'm so excited to be joining Alan Carr's team on The Masked Singer! Me and my family have been huge fans of the show.

"We have the best time trying to guess who's behind the mask, so actually joining Alan's group of detectives and playing against the Legends is a dream come true. I can't wait to start sleuthing and hopefully unmask a few more superstars…!"

Stacey rose to fame as a contestant on The X Factor in 2009, where she finished in third place. The following year, she won the tenth series of the ITV reality show I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

Alan Carr's new role and rivalry

She has also been a panellist on Loose Women, presents the BBC reality series Sort Your Life Out, and has been a guest judge on Britain's Got Talent.

Alan Carr's addition to The Masked Singer panel was announced in July, with a post on Instagram seeing the comedian unmask himself. Wearing a vibrant pink suit, Alan said: "It's me, Alan Carr. I'm sick and tired of watching that panel make terrible guesses."

"I've been Red Panda. I've been Teeth – I don't know why they thought of me," he joked, referencing his past appearances on the show. Alan added: "I'm joining the panel, and I'm going to bring something that they desperately need – intelligence.

"Watch out Jonathan, Maya, Davina, and Mo – because I'm bringing my own detectives to rival yours. And we're not here to play. We're here to win."

Also describing the role as a "dream come true", he added: "I can't wait to play detective – so excited to be shouting 'take it off' in the actual studio rather than on my settee at home."

Series return and format

The ITV singing competition, hosted by Joel Dommett, sees celebrities perform wearing elaborate costumes while a panel of judges is tasked with guessing who is beneath the mask. The Masked Singer will return for its eighth series in 2027 and will be available to watch on ITV1 and ITVX.
