Stacey Solomon has revealed why she won't show her new home's exterior after her family moved out of Pickle Cottage. The TV presenter and her husband, Joe Swash, announced on social media last week that they had already left the Tudor-style Essex property, which they had described as their 'dream home'.
Reasons for the move
Stacey and Joe moved into Pickle Cottage in 2021, with Stacey documenting the renovations in her book, Tap To Tidy Pickle Cottage. She also kept her millions of Instagram followers updated on changes to the family home along the way.
The former X Factor singer said she and Joe have now bought a new home 'further out' despite still loving Pickle Cottage. The pair are hoping to grow their own vegetables, with Stacey's current vegetable patch on land belonging to a neighbouring farmer, and have space to rescue more animals.
Leaving Pickle Cottage
Stacey said: "We are leaving Pickle Cottage. We're moving out of Pickle Cottage, which I never, ever thought I'd say, imminently. The reason that we haven't said anything up until this point is because anyone who's ever moved before knows what it's like, you don't know if it's going to happen until it actually happens.
"Leaving Pickle Cottage was a massive, massive decision for us, we had a lot of people we need to speak to, we had to get the kids around to the idea. We needed to speak to all of our lovely neighbours, our lovely friends in the area. Even the thought of selling Pickle Cottage felt impossible. We've just waited until someone amazing came along and fell in love with Pickle Cottage."
She added: "Pickle Cottage is our dream house. As soon as we moved there we fell in love with it, I still love it so much. It's a really special place to us, I gave birth to both the girls there, we got married there."
Former EastEnders actor Joe stated: "It's the best for our family." He added that it was not an easy decision for the couple as they had built their lives at Pickle Cottage, but they believe their new home will allow the family to 'flourish'.
Privacy and security concerns
Returning to Instagram on Saturday (September 6) saw Stacey sharing a video on her story with more details about the move. The video showed her daughter Rose in an empty living room, with Stacey noting the surroundings felt strange.
"Happy Saturday. Feels so strange not waking up in Pickle Cottage but so excited taking it all in & wondering what to do with this place," she said.
From here, Stacey shared that she isn't planning on showing the outside of her new home due to privacy and security concerns at Pickle Cottage. She explained: "I can't wait to properly have some days off work & show you all around…. I'm not going to show the outside of the house this time around.
"Just for security and privacy reasons… we had some issues at pickle cottage in the end & it's safer to just not show the building itself."
Stacey added in writing: "I am so excited though to take you into the rooms & get inspiration from you all. There's so much to think about & so many fun things to do. I will need help with this project because it is huge. I need all your tips, tricks and ideas!
"I'm going to really take my tie and live here and work out what to do with each room because I don't want to rush it! But I can't tell you how excited I am to sink my teeth into this project with you all."
