Stacey Solomon has defended her family's luxury holiday in Turkey after social media users accused her of being 'smug' over the expensive trip. The 35-year-old television presenter stayed at the Regnum Carya hotel in Antalya with her husband Joe Swash and their five children.
The all-inclusive resort, which costs around £1,000 per night, is described as one of the top-ranked hotels on the Mediterranean coast. It offers luxury villas with private pools, swim-up rooms and family suites. During the getaway, Stacey shared sun-soaked photos on Instagram and referred to the resort as her 'second home'.
However, some followers criticised the family, with one commenting: 'So another well subsidised holiday for the entire family. It makes me throw up.' Others called them 'the seriously smug family' and simply 'annoying family'.
After returning to the UK, Stacey addressed the backlash on her Instagram stories, insisting the trip was not complimentary. 'This wasn't a free holiday. I just love this place so much and think it deserves the best reviews and tags ever because it's just incredible,' she said. She acknowledged the cost, adding: 'It is very expensive. I do think it is worth every penny and more for what it has to offer.'
During the break, Stacey also spent time with fellow celebrities Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who were staying at the same hotel. She said she 'fell in love' with the couple and their daughter Bambi, and invited them to visit her home, Pickle Cottage. A photo showed her older sons posing with Tommy Fury, with Stacey noting they were 'buzzing'.
