Anthony 'Spanian' Lees, the former criminal turned YouTube sensation, has publicly debuted his surgically altered nose while holidaying in Paris with his new, significantly younger girlfriend. This European getaway comes just months after the 37-year-old influencer's two-year marriage to Angela McColl collapsed.
A New Chapter in the City of Love
While his ex-wife raises their five-month-old son, Spanian is embracing a new life with 22-year-old Sydney woman Ava Jean Walker. The couple have been documented laughing and kissing on the busy streets of Paris after dark. Spanian confirmed the new relationship on Instagram, captioning a video of them together and calling her his new 'misses'.
In a separate video uploaded to Instagram, the eshay influencer was filmed eating escargots, the French delicacy of snails, at a Parisian restaurant. He spent nearly half a minute rambling about soccer and aggressively promoting his Snapchat account to his followers.
From Prison Sentences to Snapchat Boasts
Spanian's current life of continental luxury and social media bravado is a far cry from his past. He was once a poster boy for the eshay subculture in Sydney and has a significant criminal record. His convictions include armed robbery, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and reckless wounding.
He was also sentenced for operating a criminal group involved in drug dealing. In total, Spanian served more than 12 years in prison, only being released from Bathurst prison in 2017. It was after this release that he launched his successful 'Into the Hood' YouTube series, building a career and a fortune by marketing himself as a reformed ex-criminal.
A 'Complete Personality Transplant'?
His recent transformation, however, which includes not only the rhinoplasty but also a set of dazzling veneers, coupled with the swift end of his marriage and new romance, has left some of his long-time followers questioning his authenticity. After featuring his new romance with Walker on social media, he openly bragged about his media relevance.
When approached by the Daily Mail in early November about his failed marriage, Spanian spoke only in cryptic, alliterative riddles, describing his new life as 'magical, majestic, madness'. He had previously shared a Snapchat story in late October revealing his bandaged face while recovering from the nose job.
This dramatic new look and lifestyle mark another controversial chapter for the influencer, who seems to be revelling in the attention his personal life generates, proudly stating, 'I love that I'm extremely relevant.'
