Sopranos star Vincent Pastore found dead at home

Vincent Pastore, the Sopranos actor who played Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero, has died in New York at the age of 80.

He was found dead in his apartment in The Bronx by a neighbour on Saturday, after not being heard from for three days, according to Deadline.

Pastore's long-running role on the hit drama – often considered the greatest TV show ever made – came to an abrupt end when the character was murdered for being an FBI informant.

Pastore's manager Bob McGowan said: "Vinnie was a great guy, he would help anyone and was very charitable."

Mafia movie regular and reality TV star

The actor fought in the Vietnam War before taking up performing, and was a regular in mafia movies, appearing in Goodfellas, Men of Respect and the TV movie Gotti.

Pastore also appeared on US reality shows including Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing With the Stars and Celebrity Fit Club. He is survived by his daughter Renee.
