Sophie Turner has revealed that she may have inadvertently caused a famous couple to break off their engagement after an awkward encounter at a Comic-Con afterparty. The Game of Thrones star, 29, shared the story during an appearance on Thursday's episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Turner explained that she was at the party with a childhood friend who was a fan of a particular actor. At her friend's request, Turner waved at the actor from across the room. However, the actor's fiancée saw the gesture and confronted Turner on the dance floor, accusing her of flirting.
“I have no idea who this man is,” Turner claimed. “Turns out, they broke their engagement off that night because of my [wave]. I didn’t realise I held this power.” She declined to name the couple, saying she would get “in trouble” if she did.
Turner is currently dating Peregrine “Perry” Pearson after a brief split earlier this year. She was previously married to Joe Jonas for five years, with whom she shares two daughters, Willa, four, and Delphine, two. Their divorce was finalised in September 2024, and they now have a “great co-parenting relationship,” according to Jonas.
