Sir Paul McCartney has been flooded with messages from fans as he celebrates his 84th birthday today. His daughters, Stella and Mary McCartney, also shared special messages on Instagram.
A Life in Music
Paul was born at Walton Hospital on June 18, 1942, and his family spent time in Knowsley and Speke before moving to Forthlin Road in Allerton. Paul rose to worldwide fame as part of The Beatles and will go down in history as one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
The music icon isn't slowing down as he recently released his latest album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. The new album is an ode to his youth in Liverpool and debuted at Number One on the UK Albums Chart after it was released on May 29.
Birthday Messages
The 84-year-old is celebrating his birthday today (June 18). Mary McCartney, one of Paul's five children, shared a heartfelt post to mark the special day. Sharing a photo of her dad wearing an England jersey with "McCartney 26" on the back, she added the caption: "Happy Birthday Dad x Love You x Mary."
Sir Paul himself also shared his own post to mark his birthday. He said: "Happy Birthday to me. Have a great day on my birthday - Paul."
Fans immediately took to the comments to send their love and best wishes. One said: "Happy birthday Liverpool legend" and another said: "Happy birthday, genius! Love you." A third wrote: "All the best, Sir Macca!"
Stella McCartney also shared her own post to give thanks to her dad on his birthday. Sharing a reel, the fashion designer said: "Celebrating this day in history. Thank you, Mary and Jim McCartney, for giving life to the one of the most creative and loving humans mother earth has ever had the privilege to have. Dad, you are truly the most generous, loving, kind, cool, kick-a*** and inspiring person I know. I feel so lucky every single day having you as my dad. I love you more than you'll ever know… x Stella."
Taking to the comments, one fan said: "Your dad is a wonderful man" while another added: "Happy birthday to a lovely man who happens to be a legend too."
Family and Latest Album
Sir Paul McCartney has five children: Heather, 63, Mary, 56, Stella, 54, James, 48, and Beatrice, 22. He shares his four oldest children with his late first wife, Linda McCartney, and his youngest with his second wife, Heather Mills.
Sir Paul's latest album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, provides a rare insight into his early years before he conquered the world with the Fab Four. A special launch party took place at The Jacaranda, which was renamed "The Maccaranda" to coincide with McCartney's album release.
