Brooke and Jackson Warne, two of the late Australian cricketer Shane Warne's children, are reportedly hoping that their mother, Simone Callahan, will begin a relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. According to Australian magazine New Idea, the siblings would "love" to see their 55-year-old mother with the 48-year-old singer, who recently split from actress Dakota Johnson.
The claim follows the family's attendance at nine of Coldplay's sell-out concerts at Wembley Stadium over the summer. Photographs posted on social media showed Simone with her three children – Brooke, 28, Jackson, 26, and Summer, 24 – posing backstage with Martin, who placed a supportive arm around Simone.
A source close to the family told New Idea: "Chris has been looking out for them. Whenever there's an opportunity to see them or have them at his shows, he makes it happen. They've seen how Simone lights up when she's around Chris, so they'd love to see her finally happy again with a good bloke like him."
Martin was a close friend of Shane Warne, who died in March 2022 from a heart attack while on holiday in Thailand. The Coldplay singer performed a rendition of his song "Yellow" at Warne's funeral and paid tribute to the cricketer during a concert at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium last month. In an interview with Men's Health magazine a year before his death, Warne described Martin as "one of my best friends", explaining: "When I catch up with Chris Martin, who is one of my best friends, we do something really simple. When I go down to his place in LA, we go for a walk up a hill."
The source added that the children believe their father would have approved of the potential romance: "The kids also know their dad Shane would approve. He always wanted Simone to find the happiness she deserved." Warne and Callahan married in 1999 and divorced in 2005, briefly reconciling in 2009 before separating again.
