Sheridan Smith has expressed hope that she might find romance while filming her new project in Australia. The 44-year-old actress, who has been single since her relationship with Dave 'Rocky' Ryan ended in early 2024, is set to travel Down Under for a four-month shoot on the series Two Birds.
Speaking on This Morning, Smith said: 'People do keep asking and since I've had my son, he's the man of my world but even he's asking 'When are you getting a boyfriend, mummy?' So maybe I'll manifest a nice Aussie!' She will be accompanied by her four-year-old son Billy, who will be tutored during the stay.
Smith's latest comments come after she admitted on The Romesh Ranganathan Show that she was 'sick of being single'. Her romance with Ryan reportedly 'fizzled out' after six months. Prior to that, she had relationships with actor Alex Lawler and Greg Wood, and previously dated James Corden.
The actress is currently promoting her new BBC drama The Cage, which airs from 26 April. She has also been nominated for a BAFTA for her role in I Fought The Law but will miss the ceremony in May due to being in Australia, though a live link is being arranged.
