Sharon Osbourne has marked her first wedding anniversary since the death of her husband, rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, with a heartfelt tribute on social media. Ozzy died last July at age 76 after a battle with Parkinson's disease, just days after headlining a farewell concert with Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham.
Emotional Instagram Tribute
On what would have been their 46th wedding anniversary, Sharon, 73, posted a photo of the couple holding hands on Instagram. She wrote: "Today would have been our 46th wedding anniversary. Instead, it is a celebration of a love that even death could not diminish. I miss your hand in mine, but I carry your love with me every step of the way. Forever my husband. Forever my heart."
The couple married in Hawaii on July 4, 1982, and shared three children: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. Aimee has largely stayed out of the public eye, while Kelly and Jack have appeared on their family's reality show.
Recent Health Scare
Sharon's tribute comes shortly after she was rushed to hospital for an undisclosed condition, forcing her to cancel plans to attend Hellfest in France. Organisers had erected a 20ft statue of Ozzy to honour his contributions to heavy metal music, and Sharon was due to unveil it.
In a statement on social media, she explained: "I'm sorry I couldn't be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy's statue. Unfortunately I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week." She thanked festival organisers Olivier Garnier and Ben Barbaud, as well as sculptor Philippe Pasqua for the "absolutely stunning statue."
Property Sales and Legacy
Sharon recently put the Los Angeles mansion she shared with Ozzy on the market for £13 million and has reportedly moved into an apartment. She also owns a Grade-II listed mansion in Buckinghamshire, where Ozzy is buried. There is speculation that the family is trying to buy back the mansion featured in their reality TV show, The Osbournes.
Ozzy's final concert, Back to the Beginning, sold out and raised significant funds for charities including Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Acorns Children's Hospice.
