The 'world's sexiest football referee' is enjoying herself at the World Cup as she left her fans stunned with her eye-catching display in Miami.
Claudia Romani is soaking up the sun in Florida and has posted several snaps of her taking in the World Cup atmosphere, despite her beloved Italy failing to qualify for the tournament. The Azzurri have won the competition four times, but the last victory was two decades ago in 2006 – staggeringly enough, also the World Cup tournament when they won their last knockout game.
But referee turned model Claudia is still having a ball as she posted pictures of her flaunting her long legs in an incredibly short-cut dress, while perched on a huge replica football.
Adding to the snaps to her 1.2 million followers, she wrote the caption: “Was in Germany for the Worldcup when Italy won… No Italy this time, yet this is so magical…. Such a unique atmosphere!!!!
“Had lots of fun with my friend… meeting many Saudi Arabia supporter & overall seeing the love for the best sport ever!!!! Forever a #soccergirl at heart…”
Her fans swooned over her looks in the comments section, as one dubbed her: “Gorgeous,” while a second called her “perfect.” A third said: “Absolutely gorgeous !! You are simply amazing!!” And a fourth added: “Beautiful photos.”
Claudia was left furious after her home country failed to qualify for the World Cup as Italy suffered yet another play-off defeat, this time to Bosnia & Herzegovina on penalties in March.
The firm favourites took the lead after just 15 minutes when Moise Kean gave them the lead. However, the visitors found themselves reduced to 10-men before half-time when Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni was given his marching orders.
The game saw the hosts pile on the pressure and force an equaliser through Haris Tabakovic to send the tie to extra-time before penalties were needed to determine who would be heading to North America. Gianluigi Donnarumma was unable to save any of Bosnia’s four spot kicks as Italy lost 4-1.
Romani appeared in a bikini with an Italian scarf draped over her the following day as she answered questions from her fans on her Instagram story in the wake of the defeat.
A devastated Claudia replied: “It is sad. I grew up when we were always getting very far.” The stunning official also posted another snap saying: “Our summer is destroyed”.
Once upon a time, Romani could have been under consideration to referee at the World Cup as a representative of Italy after she gave up modelling in 2014 to pursue her dream of becoming an official.
Romani gained qualifications to take charge of matches in the top flight of Italian football but her potential on the pitch never materialised as she returned to modelling and social media influencing.
