Sam Thompson puts dating on hold to focus on himself after double heartbreak

Sam Thompson has decided to take a break from dating after a year of romantic setbacks. The former Made in Chelsea star, 32, revealed on his Staying Relevant podcast that he is not ready for another relationship and plans to concentrate on himself.

The decision follows his split from Zara McDermott, ending a five-year relationship, and a brief romance with Samie Elishi, which ended last month. Thompson was recently seen on the celebrity dating app Raya but has struggled to find a connection.

Speaking on the podcast, he said: "I'm going to work on myself. No dating, I'm not ready and I've realised that." His sister Louise has suggested he pursue someone like actress Emma Watson, describing the idea as "classy" or "well to do", while best friend Pete Wicks joked he would have more chance with Ron Weasley.

Thompson and Samie met on Love Island's Aftersun and were seen together in May, but a source said the relationship ended because of their busy lives. Earlier this year, Thompson had expressed confidence about dating again, telling Pete he was "ready to get out there".
