Rylan Clark's Strict Wedding Rule After Divorce Regret

Rylan Clark has revealed the strict rules he would impose if he ever married again, following his painful divorce from ex-husband Dan Neal. The BBC Radio 2 presenter, 37, made the comments during a recent appearance on the Table Manners podcast, which has been reshared on YouTube.

A Second Wedding Would Be Different

Asked if he would walk down the aisle again, Rylan replied: “I think I’d marry again, yeah,” before adding it would have to be with “the right person and with a prenup, a hundred percent.” He explained he “wouldn’t have a wedding like I did before”, noting his first wedding at Braxted Park Estate was “big and lavish, expensive”.

The former X Factor star said he doesn’t speak to “half the people that were there” at that wedding, so he “wouldn’t do that again”. Instead, he said: “If I had another wedding, this time around, I would do something in London, because it’s my own town and I love London.”

Life After Divorce

Rylan’s comments come after he recently said he was “a married man” on This Morning, sparking speculation he had secretly wed partner Kennedy Bates. He quickly clarified: “Not married, very happy, very content, living my fairground life.”

Rylan and Dan married in 2015 and divorced six years later. He has since found love with Kennedy, a fairground showman, who he went public with last year.

Despite being open to marriage again, Rylan has admitted he remains wary after his divorce. Speaking on his podcast Rylan: How to Be in Love last year, he said: “I’ve had to do it once and once was enough for me. You still get that weird sharp pain every now and again.”

He added: “It’ll be something so stupid like, ‘Oh that glass looks like...’ and it’s, like, that little. I couldn’t imagine going through that twice, I don’t know how I’d fare.”

Rylan has previously spoken about the breakdown he suffered after the split, which came after he confessed to cheating early in their relationship. He told Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast: “I lost my speech. I lost my vision for a little bit. It was like having a really bad stroke. It was just so bizarre. And yeah, it took me months to go back to work.”
