Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez's wedding could take place as soon as tomorrow, but doubts have been raised about the exact date. Reports suggest the couple may marry this Saturday at Funchal Cathedral in Madeira, followed by a reception at the nearby five-star Savoy Hotel.
Wedding plans and venue details
Local reports claim Funchal Cathedral is booked for a large wedding on Saturday, with Georgina rumored to walk down the aisle at the cathedral, which seats about 800 people. From there, the couple would take a five-minute drive or 15-minute walk to the Savoy for the reception.
The Daily Mail has previously reported that Ronaldo and his family have stayed at The Savoy Palace, particularly in The Reserve, the hotel's luxury 'hotel-within-a-hotel' on the upper floors.
Sisters deny 2026 wedding
However, confusion remains over the date, as both of Ronaldo's sisters have denied that the footballer is marrying this year. Speaking to Portuguese presenter Adriano Silva, Katia and Elma Aveiro both denied a 2026 wedding.
Ronaldo previously said he planned to marry Georgina after this year's World Cup. He told Piers Morgan: "I hope to arrive at my wedding with the champion’s trophy. I’m going to marry her because I believe it’s the right time. Not just because she’s the mother of my children — but because she’s the person I love most."
Previous incorrect reports
Incorrect dates have been reported before. Last week, a leaked invite suggested the couple would tie the knot on August 1, with the wedding at Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra, Portugal, at 5pm. The invitation reportedly instructed guests to wear black attire, but representatives for the couple denied the nuptials were taking place.
Hola! contacted Quinta de Regaleira and found no wedding booked in either Ronaldo or Rodriguez's names.
