A mother in Douglasville, Georgia, gave birth in her garage doorway in just nine minutes, and the entire event was captured on her Ring doorbell camera. Christina Mahone, 37, delivered her daughter Scotti Ann on June 12, 2026, at 2:12 p.m., with the help of her husband Damien and a 911 dispatcher.
Rapid Labor and Delivery
Mahone said she began experiencing contractions around 10 a.m. and was monitoring them before her water broke at 2:03 p.m. Her 12-year-old daughter, Merci, called her father Damien, 39, while Christina attempted to get into her car to go to the hospital. However, she felt a sudden urge to push and could not get into the vehicle. 'I knew she was too low, and as I walked around the hood of my car, she started to come. I yelled for my daughter to come catch her,' Mahone said.
Damien arrived just three minutes before the birth. He worked with 911 dispatch over the phone to deliver the baby in the garage. Within nine minutes of Christina's water breaking, Scotti Ann Mahone was born, weighing nine pounds and measuring 20 inches long.
Out-of-Body Experience
Mahone described the experience as surreal. 'It was so quick and fast — it was crazy. I didn't make it to the hospital, and I didn't even make it out of my driveway. There wasn't much time to think about anything; it was like an out-of-body experience. My husband caught her. I couldn't even communicate to him what to do, but luckily he was on the phone with 911 dispatch,' she said.
She noted that her contractions were not intense or closely spaced before her water broke. 'We went down to the garage to put everything in the car. As I went to move the car out of the garage, I physically could not get into the car,' she added.
Gravity Assisted Delivery
Mahone said she did not even feel like she pushed; instead, gravity helped deliver her daughter. Both mother and baby were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, and have been given a clean bill of health.
The couple had planned to have both of their children in the delivery room, so they were prepared to witness the birth — just not in the driveway. Mahone praised her husband's calm demeanor: 'My husband did amazing. He was so calm, and I couldn't have had a better partner.'
