Richard Madeley has addressed his daughter Chloe's assertion that she is 'not liked' because of her famous parents, himself and Judy Finnigan. The Good Morning Britain presenter discussed the topic on Matt Willis' podcast, On The Mend.
Chloe Madeley, who has pursued a career in modelling, journalism, and TV presenting, previously stated that she felt people disliked her due to her parents' celebrity status. Richard responded: 'Well if she said that, that's what she said. I think if you were to ask her that question now she would probably give you a different answer.'
Richard and Judy, who married in 1986, have two children together, Chloe and Jack, while Judy has twin sons from her first marriage. The couple hosted This Morning from 1988 to 2001 and later Richard & Judy on Channel 4.
Despite the challenges, Richard believes his children have not had negative experiences because of their parents' fame. He noted that Chloe, who was previously married to rugby star James Haskell, has the tools to handle public attention. 'I honestly don't think any of my kids have anything like a negative life experience because of what their mum and dad do,' he said.
Richard also revealed on the podcast that he avoided drugs, fearing he might become addicted if he tried them.
