Richard Hammond's new girlfriend has been revealed as therapist and divorced mother-of-two Kiki Glen, 53, following his separation from his wife of 23 years, Mindy. The former Top Gear host was pictured with Glen in Abergavenny, Wales, last week, where the couple are reportedly taking their relationship slowly but are "enjoying each other's company immensely."
Relationship Details and Public Acknowledgment
Hammond, who shares daughters Izzy, 25, and Willow, 22, with Mindy, earlier this month publicly acknowledged he is dating again. In a column for the Telegraph, he wrote: "I tend to eat relatively early. Sometimes it's just me; sometimes I'm with my girlfriend; sometimes friends are still around. I'm perfectly happy with a quiet evening watching television." This marked the first time he has referred to a girlfriend since his divorce.
A source told the Mail: "Richard is having fun and really appreciates he's lucky to have someone he shares such a spark with. He wasn't expecting to get into a relationship so quickly, but he's not complaining. It's early days but they're happy to see where it goes with no pressure."
Local Sightings and Lifestyle
Residents in Abergavenny frequently spot Hammond shopping at Waitrose and Morrisons, and the couple often visit a local pub. A staff member said: "They come here all the time, at least ten times since they moved here. He's a local. We sit him away from the front so people don't see him. He just wants to sit in peace and enjoy a burger."
Background: Divorce and Personal Loss
Last year was challenging for Hammond. In February, he lost his father, Alan, and in January, he and Mindy confirmed the end of their marriage after 28 years together. In a joint statement, they said: "Our marriage is coming to an end, but we've had an amazing 28 years together and two incredible daughters... We will always be in each other's lives and are proud of the family we created." The couple stressed that no third party caused the split.
The Mirror has contacted Hammond's representative for comment.
