Ramsay's Vegas Fish and Chips Slammed Over $56.95 Bill

Food reviewer Gary Hanna, who runs the Gary Eats YouTube channel, has criticised Gordon Ramsay's Fish and Chips restaurant near the Las Vegas Strip, calling the meal the worst fish and chips he has ever had and demanding a refund.

Hanna, who had previously enjoyed meals at Ramsay's establishments, visited the restaurant to sample the chef's take on the British classic. He ordered the fish and chips combo, along with chicken, sausage and shrimp, plus a selection of sauces, and a small bottle of Fiji water that cost $6.99 (£5.20).

Price and Quality Complaints

Reacting to the price of the water, Hanna said: "I'm rather hot, but I'm going to get a bottle of water as well. Small Fiji water. $6.99. I'm off my head. $6.99 for some water."

The food proved even more disappointing. Hanna compared the meal unfavourably with a fish and chip shop he had recently seen featured in another review, stating: "I can honestly say, hand on heart, the award for the worst fish and chips has been taken away from the likes of Mr Rick Stein and others. It comes here to you, Mr Ramsay."

He claimed the chips tasted as though they had been reheated several times, describing them as "just frozen chips" that "didn't taste that good. In fact, they tasted pretty rubbish." He also questioned the preparation of what he described as two small pieces of cod.

Bill and Aftermath

Hanna was also critical of the tartare sauce, calling it "rubbish", and of the chicken, which cost $4.99 (£3.70), and two pieces of shrimp priced at $7.99 (£5.95). He considered the shrimp the best part of the meal.

The final bill, after tax and a tip, came to $56.95 (£42.50). Hanna said: "Total: $56.95. Incensed. That's what I am, incensed." He awarded the restaurant zero, insisting his criticism was not a reflection of all of Ramsay's businesses, and called on Ramsay and his management team to review the restaurant's offering.

Hanna said he would have demanded his money back had the restaurant been in the UK, adding: "If you do happen to watch it, Gordon and your management team, yeah, can you transfer me back $56.95, is there, okay? Because you've just ripped me off."

Hours later, Hanna returned to his channel to reveal he had felt unwell and had taken Imodium, saying: "Sorry, Gordon, you owe me another $23. My night in Vegas... has ended." He concluded that it had been one of the worst experiences he had covered, promising viewers that his next video would feature a happier verdict.
