Prince Harry has disclosed that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are avid fans of the British television show The Great British Bake Off. The revelation came during a surprise live interview on Friday with presenter Alison Hammond on ITV's This Morning.
Surprise Interview at Invictus Games Countdown
The Duke of Sussex was attending the one-year countdown event for the Invictus Games in Birmingham when Alison Hammond approached him for a quick live interview. Initially appearing nervous, Harry soon relaxed while discussing the upcoming Games. He expressed pride in his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet.
When Hammond mentioned her role as a host on The Great British Bake Off, Harry responded, “My kids love you in Bake Off. They absolutely love it.”
Rare Glimpse into Family Life
This rare admission about his children's viewing habits comes as Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, are expected to visit the UK briefly this weekend alongside their mother, Meghan Markle. It would be their first visit to their father’s home country since 2022. However, they will not make any public appearances.
Instead, the family is believed to be planning private time away from cameras. Rumours suggest they may visit Althorp House to see Princess Diana’s resting place and possibly reunite with King Charles, though this remains unconfirmed.
Security Arrangements for Family Visit
The family of four had initially planned to fly to Britain together on Monday, but plans changed when Harry learned he was not entitled to armed police protection. He subsequently flew solo and worked on securing an enhanced private security package to bring his family safely to the UK, which is now possible within the coming days.
According to Harry, the children are excited about the trip, and he is “proud” of his family. The interview provided a rare personal moment amid his official engagements in the UK.
