Prince Harry 'must apologise to William' before Christmas royal reunion, expert says
Prince Harry 'must apologise to William' before reunion

Prince Harry "must apologise to William" before there can be any chance of a royal reunion, an expert has said, pointing out that King Charles will want to show a display of unity at Christmas.

Expert calls for public apology

Award-winning author and royal expert Robert Jobson told The Express that a reconciliation is needed between brothers Harry and William as "the future of the monarchy relies" on their relationship being rebuilt.

Jobson argued Harry will "try to get back into the Royal Family" on their return, though Harry and Meghan are not expected to see any alteration to their role and status as royals.

Harry's return to the UK

It was revealed on Wednesday that Harry and Meghan will be returning to the UK ahead of next month as their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, are enrolled in school here.

The Express understands that the King is pleased his younger son will be returning home and is looking forward to spending more time with him and his family. There has been no reaction from the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Fractured relationship

Since leaving the UK in 2020, the Sussexes have given a series of interviews, alongside featuring in their own Netflix show, with Harry also releasing his tell-all memoir 'Spare'. This exposure is only believed to have intensified the tensions between Harry and his elder brother William, who allegedly do not speak.

Jobson told The Express: "Long term, Harry will want to be back in the fold. That's the only way he can really secure the money and the security that comes with being part of the Royal Family.

"I'm calling it 'Regrexit'. He knows his father is ill and that he has limited time, so he knows he has to act now. It won't be allowed under William, so he has to act now."

King's desire for unity

The royal expert claimed that the King is likely to allow Harry to return to his royal duties as he "wants a strong, unified Royal Family".

He added: "Optically, it will be very hard to hide from it. What happens at Christmas? They will have to come together with the rest of the family.

"The reality is that there is a fractured relationship. But William would have to accept the King's orders to fix it.

"The future of the monarchy relies on that relationship being rebuilt. But there will need to be an apology first, and it will have to be public."
