Prince Harry is reportedly 'desperate' to visit the United Kingdom next month, but sources indicate there is no possibility of a reunion with his brother, Prince William. The Duke of Sussex is expected to travel to England in July to participate in 'one-year-to-go' promotional events and celebrations in Birmingham for the 2027 Invictus Games.
Invictus Games Return to UK
The upcoming 2027 games will feature approximately 550 competitors from 25 countries and will debut three new sports: pickleball, laser run, and esports. This marks the return of the Invictus Games to the UK for the first time since the inaugural event in London in 2014.
Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 after being inspired by the US Warrior Games. As a military veteran who served two tours in Afghanistan, he aimed to create an international platform using the power of sport to aid the physical and psychological rehabilitation of wounded, injured, and sick service personnel.
Family Visit Hopes Dashed by Security Concerns
Sources told Page Six that Prince Harry 'hopes' and 'would love' to bring his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, to England for the trip, but no firm plans have been made. The outlet also claimed that Harry 'desperately' wants his family to see King Charles. However, Harry has repeatedly stated that current UK security arrangements are insufficient for his family.
Following his unsuccessful legal challenge over police protection, he said security concerns remain a major obstacle to bringing Meghan and the children to Britain.
No Chance of William Meeting
While Harry is reportedly very keen to see his father, there is 'still no chance' of him meeting with Prince William, sources told Page Six. The two brothers have not been seen together publicly since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022. William reportedly remains upset over Harry's memoir 'Spare,' published in 2023, which contained several explosive claims about the Prince and Princess of Wales, including an alleged physical altercation and private family disputes.
Absence from Family Wedding
Harry was notably absent from his cousin Peter Phillips' wedding to Harriet Sperling last weekend, having reportedly not been invited. The event drew several senior royals, including William and Kate Middleton, King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie.
