Prince Harry Accused of Kissing Friend's Girlfriend at Boozy Weekend
Prince Harry Accused of Kissing Friend's Girlfriend

Prince Harry has been accused of kissing his friend's girlfriend during a drink-fuelled shooting weekend in December 2011, years before he married Meghan Markle. The allegation comes from journalist Charlotte Griffiths, who attended the same weekend and recounted the events in a new article following Harry's court defeat against Associated Newspapers Limited, the publishers of The Daily Mail.

Weekend Revelations

Griffiths, writing for the Mail on Sunday, described how she was invited to a shooting weekend at a 4,000-acre estate in Hampshire owned by the parents of a Bristol University graduate. Prince Harry, then single after splitting with girlfriend Chelsea Davy earlier that year, was also present. Griffiths became friends with Harry during the weekend.

In her exposé, Griffiths recalls Harry's drinking habits and a moment when he shared a blanket with her while watching a movie. She also claims Harry kissed another girl who had arrived with one of his friends. Griffiths wrote: "At some point, while we were all watching it [the film], Harry shuffled over to my beanbag, got under the blanket I was sitting under, and put his arm around me. There was nothing particularly romantic about the sweet gesture. Although I wasn't physically attracted to him, I felt slightly uncomfortable. I was dating someone else at the time and, besides, he'd kissed another girl the night before, a girl who had turned up for the weekend on the arm of one of his friends."

Court Context

Griffiths spoke out after Prince Harry claimed in court not to know her, despite flirty messages between the pair in 2011 being used as evidence. By breakfast, the kiss had been laughed off by the group. A representative for The Duke of Sussex has been contacted for comment.
