Katie Price and Peter Andre Declare End to 16-Year Bitter Feud
Celebrity couple Katie Price, 47, and Peter Andre, 52, have publicly confirmed that their long-running and acrimonious war of words is finally over. The announcement came on Friday, with both parties stating their intention to foster a "calm and supportive environment" for their two children, Junior, now 20, and Princess, 18. This marks their first positive interaction in 16 years, following a divorce in 2009 that was marred by public disputes and legal battles.
Children as the Catalyst for Peace
According to sources close to the former couple, it was their children who ultimately persuaded Katie Price to accept Peter Andre's olive branch after months of resistance. "Pete’s team have been begging Katie to end this for good for months. As far back as November, they were calling Katie and her family to try to end the row," a friend revealed. "She was resolute she wouldn’t make peace with him. It was the children who made her realise she needed to draw a line in the sand. Katie has done this for them," the source told The Sun.
The former couple, who married in 2005 after meeting on the third series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, have now reached a mutual agreement. They stated: "We are both focused on creating a calm and supportive environment for our children. We have reached a mutual agreement, both legally and personally confirming that neither of us will speak negatively about the other going forward. This decision reflects a shared commitment to our family and stability."
Background of the Feud and Legal Disputes
The feud escalated over the years, with Peter Andre previously claiming that Junior and Princess lived with him for "their safety" from 2018 until adulthood, a arrangement enforced by a family court order in 2019. In a 2025 Instagram post, Andre explained his frustration: "For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating." He referenced court cases in 2011 and 2015 where Katie Price was found to have made false claims, resulting in damages and apologies.
Katie Price, who recently confirmed her surprise fourth marriage to businessman Lee Andrews, has also addressed the past. A spokesperson for Price stated: "Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation, this was in the past and she doesn't feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she's dealing with this the right way and it's now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslight and bullied as she once was."
Podcast Revelations and Career Tensions
In recent appearances on podcasts, Katie Price discussed the divorce, recalling that Peter Andre ended their marriage after suspecting her of an affair, which she denied. "We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I've never slept with him," she said on Paul C Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast. She also claimed that Andre struggled with her success outstripping his, stating: "I think he found that a bit hard as well. I was like well hang on you've just turned up in the jungle, I've already got a career going on." Price asserted, "I made Pete again. I made him."
Further tensions were highlighted by Katie's late mother, Amy, who in her memoir accused Andre of using her daughter to revive his career. She wrote: "My daughter is no angel, but she became a sacrificial lamb in a celebrity slaughter the moment she paired up with Peter Andre. He wanted to be rich and famous, and my daughter unwittingly became part of the plan."
Moving Forward with New Chapters
Since their split, both have moved on with new relationships. Peter Andre is now married to physician Emily MacDonagh, with whom he has two children. Katie Price has had three subsequent marriages, including to cage fighter Alex Reid and former stripper Kieran Hayler, with whom she welcomed two more children, before her recent marriage to Lee Andrews.
The former couple concluded their statement by saying: "We want to stand united for our children. We are hoping this is a start of a positive relationship. We ask for understanding and support from both the media and the public as we move ahead." This truce signifies a significant step towards healing and stability for their family after years of public discord.
