Pitbull's BST Hyde Park Gig: Record-Breaking Party with Emotional Finale
Pitbull's Record-Breaking BST Hyde Park Gig with Emotional Twist

Pitbull brought the party atmosphere to BST Hyde Park for his record-breaking headline set, which culminated in an unexpectedly emotional finale. The Miami-born rapper, also known as Mr. Worldwide, set a Guinness World Record as 22,141 fans donned rubber bald caps, making it the largest gathering of 'Baldies' at a single concert.

Record-Breaking Moment

Pitbull could barely contain his excitement as he was presented with the Guinness World Records title moments before taking to the stage. "This is history in the making," he said. "Thank you, London. Thank you to the fans, thank you Hyde Park, thank you Baldies. Who would have ever thought a first-generation Cuban would ever be in London, record-breaking and record-making for the Guinness Book of World Records?"

He then performed to a crowd of 69,999, with thousands kitted out in his signature aviator sunglasses, black ties, and rubber bald caps. The show kicked off with Don't Stop the Party, and Mr. Worldwide turned Hyde Park into one giant party as he rolled through a string of hits including Hotel Room Service, International Love, and I Feel Good.

Surprise Oasis Cover

The set also featured a cover of Oasis' Wonderwall, which he dedicated to England's World Cup run. "Being here, I thought, what was the best way to represent you all? And a good friend of mine said, 'I think you should do this record.' So let's not just talk about it, let's do it."

Despite the sweltering heat, the crowd barely stood still, dancing through hit after hit and belting out every word.

Bombastic Finale with Special Guests

The two-hour show ended with a huge finale featuring special guests Lil Jon and Kesha, who had both performed earlier in the day. Lil Jon joined Pitbull on stage for Gasolina, Jumpin', and Damn I Love Miami, before Kesha returned for their global smash Timber. It was a fittingly bombastic climax to a show that never took its foot off the accelerator.

Emotional Speech About Immigrant Roots

Amid the non-stop party, Pitbull frequently paused to deliver a series of his trademark motivational speeches. After mixing his high-energy pop-rap anthems with wholesome life lessons, Pitbull became emotional as the show drew to a close and he reflected on his journey so far.

"I'm just taking it all in," Pitbull told the audience. "It's hard for me to say I'm speechless. But all I can think of right now is what my family went through in order for me to be able to be someone free. An immigrant family out of Cuba. To be able to pursue my dream and be on the stage like this, represent with all the Baldies around the world. This is priceless. There's no way I can say thank you. There are no words I can say to express what I feel right now."

"And it goes to show you, if you believe it, you dream it, you can achieve it. We want to say thank you. You know why, Baldies? 'Cause we motherf***ing did it! So not only are we here to congratulate, we're here to celebrate."

Bald Cap Phenomenon

Pitbull had encouraged fans to dress as his trademark alter ego ahead of the show. The trend had gathered momentum online in the weeks leading up to the concert, with fans sharing their costumes across social media and even receiving support from BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James. The rapper has previously praised the phenomenon. During his London O2 Arena performance in 2025, he told the audience: "I've never seen so many beautiful, bald and sexy people in one place. I want to say a special thank you to everybody who came out with bald caps. I highly appreciate y'all. It is amazing to see, it's amazing to feel, and I hope that when y'all put on those bald caps, you feel just like I do."
