England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has sent a touching anniversary message to his wife Megan, calling her the 'love of my life' as the couple celebrates a special milestone ahead of England's World Cup clash with Ghana on Tuesday evening.
Romantic Gesture
Megan Pickford shared pictures of roses on her Instagram story, accompanied by a heartfelt note from her husband. The note read: 'Happy anniversary to my soulmate and the love of my life. Love from Jords.' The mother of three often gives fans a glimpse into their family life when Pickford is away on duty.
Enduring Love
Pickford and Megan have been together for more than 15 years. They welcomed their third child, Misty Celine Pickford, last April, saying their hearts 'doubled in size.' The couple also share son Arlo and daughter Ostara.
World Cup Adventures
The family is currently in the United States as England aim to reach the knockout stages of the World Cup. However, the trip didn't start smoothly for Megan, as her suitcase went missing. Ahead of England's 4-2 win over Croatia, she posted a photo of her outfit, joking: 'No suitcase mishap was going to stop me supporting my husband. Featuring the top I travelled in and borrowed jeans.' She added: 'My top 5 horror stories. Arriving in America for the World Cup. My suitcase did not arrive. Now sharing my 7 year olds kit. My husband plays tonight. The airline hasn't got back with when my case will come.'
Squad Confidence
Pickford spoke about England's belief ahead of the tournament, telling TalkSport: 'I think we believe every time we put a shirt on that we're going to win every football match. You've got to have that mentality going into football.' He praised manager Thomas Tuchel, saying: 'He's brilliant. The team talks are very good. They are quality.'
Everton Milestone
The family has had much to celebrate this year. On March 21, Pickford kept his 100th clean sheet for Everton, becoming only the fifth goalkeeper in the club's history to reach that landmark. Only Ted Sagar (120), Tim Howard (133), Gordon West (155) and Neville Southall (269) have achieved more. Everton's official Facebook page hailed the achievement, posting: 'A century of clean sheets. Incredible! What an achievement, JP1.'
