Katie Price and Peter Andre to Separate After Four and a Half Years

Reality TV stars Katie Price and Peter Andre are to separate after four and a half years of marriage, a spokesman for the couple confirmed today. The pair, whose relationship began as contestants on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, were married the following year.

Price, a former Page 3 model, and Andre, a 1990s singer, have generated enormous publicity through a series of ITV2 reality shows including When Jordan Met Peter, Katie & Peter: The Baby Diaries, and their latest series Katie & Peter: Stateside, which attracts over 1 million viewers.

The statement from their management company, Can Associates Limited, said: 'Peter Andre and Katie Price are separating after four-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media respect their families' privacy at this difficult time.'

Price, who ranked 83rd in last year's MediaGuardian 100 list, has maintained a high profile through memoirs, children's books, teenage novels, and a perfume brand. Her first memoir, Being Jordan, sold over 1 million copies. Andre enjoyed chart success in the 1990s before his reality TV fame.

The couple have two children together, Princess Tiaamii and Junior, and Price has a son, Harvey, from a previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke. Their wedding at Highclere Castle in 2005 featured a pink Cinderella-style carriage and exclusive photo rights reportedly sold for £1.75m to OK! magazine.
